What is Smartsizing the Enterprise?

Plan IT – what you need, when you need it.

In this step, you and Pequod Systems talk about your long-term technical goals that address your business objectives. We identify which computers, related equipment, software and services are appropriate for your business. What software licenses and their upgrades will you need? What additional services you will need to plan for? What do you need now? What will you need to include in future budgeting plans?

Do you have a very specialized product need but don't know which product will best work in your company? We can tell you which applications will work on your network, which ones won't and which ones will require a change on your network. We can tell you how much it will cost to make the change now and what it will cost to make the change later.

Build IT – put it together.

We install computers, servers, related equipment and software. We make sure all the pieces and parts we specified will work for you. During this systems integration process, we document every piece of software and hardware we specify and install. We keep track of where the equipment was purchased, when you got it, what model and version it is, its serial number, and the conditions under which it can be replaced. We tell you any passwords or network settings we have created. We think you should know that too, so we give you that information in writing when we finish the setup.

Manage IT – keep it running.

To protect your business mission, we show your staff simple daily tasks which if not done can lead to large expense, such as loss of your mission-critical data. In a short training session or two, we show you how to read the reports from your network backup software, how to check for new viruses on your network, and how to find out if your Internet connection is working today – and if it is a problem you can fix.

No technical support person on staff? No problem. Plan for remote monitoring of your server. Also with your agreement and setup, we can look at your staff computers.

Our remote monitoring service enables us to identify pending problems before they get to be really large and expensive to recover from. (Think of this service as your insurance agent telling you that your front door lock is broken and that the rate of breakins in your business neighborhood has gone up lately.)

Do you have a specialty application supported by another vendor? We get to know the contact people, so we can work with them to keep your system running.

Is something not working correctly? We provide telephone support. If we can talk you through the solution in a few minutes, our mini-consult is free.

Use IT – expand opportunities.

We install, support and customize GoldMine®, the leading customer relationship management product from FrontRange Solutions. With GoldMine, you target your best prospects and customers, improve marketing communication, focus more on selling (and less on repetetive tasks) and strengthen your relationships with customers.

We also install and support solutions designed to work with GoldMine, such as Microsoft Office, Z-Firm's OmniRush£ and Intuit's QuickBooks Pro/Premier 2002£. OmniRush enhances GoldMine for fax, Email, Voice and FedEx/ UPS Shipping. GoldMine Plus Accounting is a common interface between GoldMine and the U.S. version of QuickBooks Pro/Premier 2002.
